As Observability engineers you are passionate about using software-based approaches to solve complex data-driven challenges and automate those solutions. Within our organization, you'll lead efforts aimed at scaling our existing operational data offerings and establish the technical strategy for how we can better equip engineers and leaders with operational intelligence. You'll build a deep understanding of our digital streaming service and use that knowledge, coupled with your engineering, infrastructure, data and cloud knowledge, to optimize and evolve how we understand our technical ecosystem. To be successful, you'll need to be deeply technical and capable of holding your own with other strong peers. You possess excellent collaboration and diplomacy skills. You have experience practicing infrastructure-as-code, standing up logging and metrics data pipelines, site reliability engineering, DevOps, and data lake management. In addition, you'll have strong systems knowledge and troubleshooting abilities. **What to Bring** **:**
+ At least 12 - 18 years of overall experience in software, systems, and infrastructure.
+ At least 6 years of experience managing public cloud infrastructure with AWS, including design, implementation, and maintenance of large scale environments.
+ Experience with a variety of cloud services like OpenSearch, AMP, Kinesis, network, storage etc.
+ Must have CS fundamentals and a track record of implementing highly reliable automation using any scripting or programming language such as Python/Go.
+ Strong knowledge and implementation history of Terraform and/or other similar tooling.
+ Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservice architecture, kafka, logging/metric/tracing platforms (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, OTEL etc), and security.
+ Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes or AWS EKS is strongly desired.
+ Experience in working across product, engineering, and analytics teams to evaluate new ideas, discuss technical concepts, create scalable designs, implement new models, and make tradeoffs to remove roadblocks

Job Description

This position is for a experienced AWS Engineer to join our team for a critical initiative aimed at enhancing and security of our Customer Identity and Access Management application. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust disaster recovery (DR) strategies and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and trust in the event of regional AWS outages or domain compromises.

You will work closely with the Solution Architect to build a robust multi-region DR strategy and domain failover plan.You will be reporting to a Senior Manager

Responsibilities

Design and implement multi-region DR architectures within AWS to ensure recovery times and points.

Deploy critical resources such as EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and S3 in a secondary region to act as a failover site.

Use Aurora RDS Databases and cross-region replication for database resilience.

Configure Amazon Route 53 with health checks and DNS failover to reroute traffic during outages.

Use AWS services like S3 replication, AWS Backup, and RDS snapshots to replicate data and workloads.

Plan and conduct regular recovery tests and simulations to validate DR plans.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to define business continuity requirements and align DR strategies accordingly.

Maintain detailed DR documentation, including plans, procedures, and recovery steps.

Communicate DR processes and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Monitor DR infrastructure performance and optimize configurations for cost-efficiency and reliability.

Implement secure domain failover strategies to alternate domains in case of compromise.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in DevOps, AWS Cloud, or Site Reliability Engineering.

Strong expertise in AWS, especially EKS, Aurora PostgreSQL, Route 53, S3, IAM, and VPC.

Hands-on experience with ForgeRock Identity Platform (IDM, AM, DS, IG etc.) in containerized environments.

Proficiency in Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience with multi-region deployments, DR planning, and DNS failover.

Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or JavaScript.

Experience with Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure-as-code management.
